Gravel 110 km, “la grande escapade”

On these Gravel routes, we’ve chosen not to take you to the summit of Mont Ventoux, so that you can discover landscapes that are just as impressive, but above all more suited to Gravel riding.

Starting and finishing in Vaison-la-Romaine, the 110km Grande Escapade will take you to discover the Dentelles de Montmirail, which you’ll cross on a variety of trails, with some fast, rolling sections and others that are more playful. You’ll discover the towering cliffs of the Clapis before turning east towards the Comtat plain and its AOC Ventoux vineyards. From hilltop village to hilltop village, between tracks and forest paths, you’ll complete the tour of the Dentelles massif before reaching the hilltop village of Le Crestet. You’ll then join the Ouvèze valley on a rapid descent, followed by a mixture of paths and small bumpy roads. You’ll reach the wild valleys and hills at the gateway to the Baronnies.

The atmosphere here is typical of the hills of the Drôme, with small roads and farm tracks leading through apricot orchards and fragrant pine forests. You’ll be lucky enough to pass through a few villages hidden away in the middle of this wild environment before returning to Vaison-la-Romaine on some beautiful tracks, still in the midst of the AOC Ventoux vineyards, after 110 km of pure pleasure.

Please note that this event is not timed, so there will be no rankings. As for the route, there will be a few arrows at strategic points, but your orientation will be ensured by a GPX track that you will receive a few days before the event.
